Ortomedic: Good structure of comprehensive documentation with 4human TQM
With a number of requirements from large suppliers, public sector customers and hospitals, it is important for Ortomedic AS to have good management and structure of the documentation in the management systems.
Ortomedic AS , including subsidiaries in Sweden, consists of 68 employees and has a turnover of around NOK 500 million. The company is a distribution and sales organization for medical products and microscopes.Chief Operating Officer Arvid Tjomslanddescribes the business as an important partner andpart of the customers' value chain .
So it's important that the customer gets the right product at the right time."We supply critical goods and advanced equipment to hospitals, and must also ensure that we have the right expertise in place with the customer," says Tjomsland.
The company was certified early on for quality standards, but needed additional structure as the company grew and a management system for the environmental standard also needed to beimplemented. The choice for the management and deviation system then fell on 4human TQM .
With TQM Enterprise gave us better control over the documents, and it became easy to structure the documents according to our value chain. It also made it educationally easy for us to introduce new employees to the system. Everyone understands where they can find what in the system, and we have been confirmed over the years that 4human TQM was the right choice for us.
Fast implementation of new device
The parent company in Norway has had TQM Enterprise as a system since 2012. This was easy to leverage for a quick implementation of the new company in Sweden. The new organization could replicate the structure that was already in place and work efficiently with overlapping requirements.
"Building on what we already had has provided many good synergies. Among other things, we can run a coordinated audit process, and it's easy for the auditor to navigate the document and process structure.
The system is built around a corporate structure and allows for country-specific compliance assessments when requirements differ. On the other hand, sales and work processes in the companies are more similar.
Supports streamlining of operations
TQM Enterprise is one of the tools we use to achieve the goals and strategies the company has. In order to execute and deliver on the goals the companies have, we need to have good work processes. Working efficiently internally, having defined processes and working consistently, makes us more efficient. Improvement through the incident module is also central to us.
