Bingsa Gjenvinning: Extended use of the deviation module adds value

The deviation module from 4human TQM has helped Bingsa Gjenvinning AS with increased earnings, improved information for customers and greater trust among neighbors and the welfare association.

Bingsa Recycling AS works with waste treatment in Ålesund municipality. From 2022, Bingsa Gjenvinning and Arim one company, the majority of the employees will then be cleaners who transport household waste, as well as machine operators who process the waste before further processing. Employees from Årim will be implemented in the system from the beginning of 2022. The system from 4human TQM is an important support in a number of tasks for employees throughout the working day.

"We use the incident module very widely. Among other things, we use it in the waste reception control, and all deviations in waste quality go intothe deviation system," says HSE and quality coordinator Kjetil Larsen Hagen.

After the business implemented the deviation system from 4human TQM , the deviation system has taken over previous manual tasks where errors could more easily occur.

Now it's up to the machine operator to report on site. It's easy to submit deviations together with a photo from your mobile.

The first step in the case management process is to quickly review the reported cases and see whether the report should be followed up or not. Furthermore, he links the cases to measurement parameters, and in this way can easily see where the majority of errors occur.

When we see recurring errors in waste sorting made by customers, we use this data to further improve the information provided to customers. Sometimes there are mistakes that the customer can easily avoid, but where we have discovered that the information from us has not been good or clear enough.

Profits back to the citizens

From running at a loss in the past, Bingsa Gjenvinnings AS is now also a business deliveringr a profit back to the municipality.

Gained greater public trust

Hagen also says that the system from 4huamn TQM has led to increased trust in the neighborhood. Now those living around the facility can report dangerous traffic situations and if they experience bad odors from the facility.

Before, very few cases were reported to us, but now we have the opportunity to actually follow up on the problems experienced by those around us here. Following this input, we have participated in campaigns for safer routes to school and handed out reflectors to those who travel to school here.

Furthermore, reports from the public have enabled Hagen to follow up on reports of bad odors from the plant in the surrounding area during the day. As Bingsa is located in an industrial area, it has been shown several times that the odor does not always come from the waste facility. In addition, the company also gets a better overview of its own odor emissions. This work has received good feedback from the local residents' association.

We take enrollment seriously and work hard to ensure that we have a good reputation.

TQM has high competence in all areas

Kjetil Larsen Hagen says he experiences 4human TQM as a supplier with expertise in all aspects. They always experience getting help from the supplier when they ask for it.

It's also very important to us that they are a supplier who doesn't always agree with us! For example, if I ask for changes that they see could put a spanner in the works for an ISO certification later on, they let me know - and then we find another solution.

Bingsa Gjenvinning has been a customer of 4human TQM since the beginning of 2020. Hagen says they are looking forward to continuing the development of the system.

"I feel we've become very familiar with the system in the time we've had it. We are constantly discovering new areas of use. And really, the system has no limitations; the limitations lie in our expertise in using the system.
