"Onboarding is about much more than being given a PC, keys or flowers on the desk on the first day. Onboarding needs to start earlier than this to be successful," explains Andersen.

Increased digitalization has become a reality

It's crucial for businesses to engage their employees using digital support systems throughout the HR value chain to simplify and improve the workday for managers and employees.

To deal with the situation, and to get a better overview of the administrative work, several companies have chosen to invest in digital HR systems, where all information can be stored in one place.

  • "A greater focus on digitalization among companies means something when it comes to attracting new employees. The coming generation in particular chooses companies with a high degree of digital maturity, and this is already noticeable from the preboarding phase," Andersen concludes.
